3 movies that I relate the most to (not necessarily saying they are great pieces of cinematic art, as I know several people who absolutely hate all of them, but they hit home with me)...
Razor's Edge Punch Drunk Love Magnolia
.. and most recently, Lost in Translation
I'm also looking forward to Cold Mountain's upcoming release, as the book is where I got the first half of my board moniker from.

My favourite film is becoming a bit of a common choice now but ive loved it since i first saw it when I was 12. The shawshank Redemption. Its such an emotional and powerful film I just love it. Now, I'm a bloke packed full o' macho testosterone so of course I never Cry, lol, but I must admit I had a bit of a lump in my throat at the end, and that wasnt because it was very sad but because the characters were so real and you felt for them so much.

Thin Red Line, great movie, some people will find this movie to slow and dreary (that is a word is it not?) but I loved the poetic scenes and the imense chaos and mayhem in the war scenes. I'm a sucker fore war movies, I love horror movies and movies with black humor aswell.

Adrian- The Shawshank Redemption was great! I didn't see it until a few months ago...really didn't look like my kind of movie but it was really brilliant!

Anyone loved Shrek? Movies like this (computer animated) are usually looked down at but I really enjoyed this one.
But my favorite one? That would be The Gladiator. It tells a story of honor, loyalty and valor of a man without home, family and friends...

Hi, I'm new to this board! ;D
I love the film 'Little Voice' - which was out in UK cinemas about 1998. I have it on video. Starred Jane Horrocks, Brenda Blethyn & Michael Caine.
It gives a very positive & insightful message about very shy people! I cy every time I watch it, not just sad tears but just because I feel so much for the character played by Jane Horrocks

I don't think I could ever name one single film as my favourite, there are a few at the top of my list. Sorry to be so unoriginal, but the LOTR trilogy is class, and way near the top. I could watch The Green Mile over and over again - and do, and cry every single time (any film with Tom Hanks in has my approval) The Matrix (the first only), The Breakfast Club and Virgin Suicides are at the top somewhere too. Ooh, and Clueless, just because I think its hilarious I also really loved 'Sleepy Hollow' - I think because Tim Butron directed it so well; its so beautifully made (if you can ignore all of the severed heads, etc etc) The best film this summer though has been 'Shrek 2' - thought it was hilarious! Okay, I'll shut up now

I love sitting down to watch movies, whether they be action blockbusters, girlie films or something that brings a tear to your eye. Gladiator, Braveheart, The Green Mile, Bridget Jones Diary (watched many times!!) are a few that come to mind.

Well, I love the movie Ghost. I found it very sad, moving, and a bit funny at times. I just thought it was great. Then I also love the movie Jaws...lol. I've seen it so many times that I know some of the lines. I also liked the movie Saturday Night Fever. Another great movie was City of Angels. It was so incredibly sad. I noticed that Girl, Interrupted was mentioned and have to say that I also really liked that movie. Then there are the movies by my favorite actor and actress. (Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts) Here's a list of some of their movies I loved: Tom Hanks-Splash, Big, Philadelphia, Cast Away, A League of Their Own, etc. Julia Roberts-Pretty Woman, Stepmom, Runaway Bride, etc.

Has anybody ever seen the movie: "Yellowbeard"? It's a monty python-ish comedy about pirates with about half of Monty Python as cast, my favorite Python Graham Chapman as Yellowbeard. It also stars Cheech and Chong, Peter Boyle, Madaleine Kahn (sp?), Marty Feldman (the crooked-eyed guy) and several other well-knowns. I don't know if it's my Favorite movie, but it's definately one of the funniest dumb movies i've ever seen. Some of my favorite lines from it are: "..if you say you burned my map, i'll nail your tits to the table!" ".. yes, yes.. Preventive punishment, that's the ticket" "..I need your head." "well that's refreshing, mother always says i think too much" .." you're not going to Use it, your going to Lose it!" (Yellowbeard's map is tatooed on his head) ... "wait! it'll putrify!.." ..."yeah, it'll ooze a little, 'eads do but i can live with it!"... Wait, wait!, what will you do if the catch you?!" .. "I'll Eat it! (looks away with a grin as if remembering) .."wouldn't be the first head i've eaten.." "I said a double! .. i know a double when i 'ears one. -When!" -this from John Cleese as Blind Pew whose hearing was so acute he could tell you who was walking up the street from inside the bar. He ended up getting killed by two rival pirates (Feldman and Boyle) One blowing a trumpet in his ear while the other held a block of stone in front of Pew's walking cane so that as Pew tapped the stone he thought it was the curb. In this way they lead him into a shack rigged to expode. I was in tears when i first seen that part. I know it doesn't really sound all that funny with me describing it, but it's hilarious. ;D I think half of why i'm obsessed with the movie is that i can't get ahold of it! It's been out of print for years. I'm hoping to see it pop up on Dvd sometime. dammit.

Office Space. Quite possibly (in my opinion) the funniest movie ever made.
