There are so many good movies, but if I had to pick just a few I would say: "The Wedding Singer", "Bridget Jones's Diary", all of the Lord of The Rings movies, most of the Star Wars movies, "Sommersby" (it made me cry really hard at the end ), "The Breakfast Club", "Some Kind of Wonderful" and "A Walk To Remember". Not complete by any means, but a few that I can think of right now. I could never claim one favourite movie.

My favorite all time movie is a decent movie, not great but fun for me to watch, Hangin' With The Homeboys. It's about 4 guys who hang out in New York City on a friday night. I love it so much because this is what I would love to do, just hang out with my friends in Manhattan, but I can't because it's too intimidating for me. Funny thing is, part of the movie was shot in my neighborhood.
I also love Airplane 1 & 2, Young Frankenstein and anything Abbott & Costello.

Its very hard to name a favorite movie. A lot of movies dissapoint because they have one or two glaring flaws in an otherwise excellent presentation. Like for example Deer Hunter. Great movie, and there's a lot to it, but then when they get to the russian roulette part I have problems. In the scene where they escape captivity, the odds of shooting only the 3 empty chambers are just too low - its fake. In other scenes they have those stupid red bandanas around their heads where they hide the fake blood. Anyway what I mean is I hate it when really good movies have some half-assed parts to them.
Has anyone seen the Sanjuro samurai movies by Kurasowa? These are old movies, but I really like them because I like the main character Sanjuro. I'll tell you why. He is a samurai without a master. A powerful fighter, he can defeat anyone in battle, but instead of assuming some high profile position in society, he drifts around from place to place living on the outskirts. He sees how foolish people are in society and uses their own weaknesses against them in the most clever ways. Not to advance or enrich himself, but just to exploit people who live in society's structure. Why does he like to do this? We never find out. Maybe he was at one time a high level person in society and he saw how corrupt it was and just "dropped out" and now he wants to destroy it. Anyway he's a very interesting guy and well acted in the films. They are old and you have to deal with English subtitles, but I will reccommend the films to anyone - Yojimbo and Sanjuro are the titles.

I love movies and that is a tough one to decide on.Prob though it would be a perfect murder.I have to be loyal to LOTR though as well. All three movies were great!!Peter Jackson is an awesome awesome director.I could watch those movies nonstop and still love them as much as i do.Office space is classic along with what about bob and clifford.Clifford got horrible reviews and a lot of people hate it but i think martin short was great in it.Oh and rambo first blood is the coolest of the action movies, though terminator1 and 2 were both great, the third one was a pretty sizeable dissapointment, too bad they changed directors. The spiderman movies were great too,i liked the second just as well as the first for a change.Oh and wargames! thats a great film, mathew brodderick's best in my opinion.Dances with wolves was a great one, kevin costner did a great job.(i love the word 'great')The game and falling down were also very good.Great movie with a great character,an average guy that just gets fed up woth the world and takes his revenge upon it.I love vigilante justice.Micheal Douglas is my favorite actor, plays the best bad guy, should do more of the evil roles.Anyways i know i have listed a lot of em but i have nothing else to do with my time as sad as that is. laol -laughs at own life

I saw Citizen Kane for the first time the other night. Very good movie.
I got a bunch of DVDs for Christmas: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (brilliant movie), Dick (in my opinion, one of the funniest movies ever made), Clerks ("37?") and a Buster Keaton collection.

I have! Just saw Waking Life a couple days ago and Before Sunset a couple months ago. His movies aren't for everyone because the characters talk A LOT but there is a lot to them. Loved the end to Before Sunset. My favorite director is Alfred Hitchcock, he was brilliant. Psycho, Vertigo, Foreign Correspondent, 39 Steps, Strangers on the Train, Shadow of a Doubt, Spellbound...all excellent and all suspenseful. I also love...Little Voice, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Trial, Garden State, Young Frankenstein (the only Mel Brooks movie I like), Amelie, Roman Holiday, Rushmore, Royal Tenenbaums, Bottle Rocket, Pretty in Pink, Singin in the Rain, The Princess Bride (Cary Elwes was my childhood crush )...the list goes on. ~InfiniteAbyss

My favorite director is Alfred Hitchcock, he was brilliant. Psycho, Vertigo, Foreign Correspondent, 39 Steps, Strangers on the Train, Shadow of a Doubt, Spellbound...all excellent and all suspenseful. Notorious is one of my all time favorite movies along with Rear Window (Grace Kelly being one of the most beautiful actresses ever IMO). I'm not too big on Vertigo although there are elements of it that I like. I also really like Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman who worked in Hitchcock's films as I'm sure you know. Many of the older films have such star power, actors that really capture the imagination and have screen presence that I find contemporary movies just can't measure up to them. Today's actors take more risks with their images and are more into realistic portrayals, but in that something of the magic of the movie is lost. I mean, I can see reality every day in my own life. I know about all the nasty and gross and horrible things that can happen. When I go to a movie I want a little escapism. I don't really want to see blood and guts, hear a steady stream of F-this and F-that, see people pukeing or whatnot. I get that daily at work. My office is crazy. I don't need to go over these things again in the movie theater when I'm paying to see it. This is why I hate many French movies where the directors seem to get off on how much they can shock or disgust people just for kicks. Its cheap, and its crass. Anyway, that rant aside, I do like a lot of modern movies too. Ocean's Eleven kind of brought back the old style of movies and was fun to watch if not a great work of timeless artistic expression.

I saw Citizen Kane for the first time the other night. Very good movie. I still don't understand why people call that movie one of the best of all time. I loved Notorious, I saw it last week. Hitchcock is becoming one of my favorite directors. From the movies I've seen, Vertigo was the only one I didn't like.
