I recently saw a New Zealand film called Once Were Warriors which was HORRIBLE!!! It was like being pummelled again and again by the nastiest images imaginable. It was about working class urban Maori life and specifically alcohol fuelled domestic abuse. It stayed with me all day.
Another films i found deeply disturbing was the Japanese horror, Audition-shudder! What has freaked out everyone else?

Natural Born Killers....very disturbing, yet still very good. Its the only movie I can think of that I loved, yet I have no desire to ever see again...in fact I would turn it off if it ever came on the TV.

Some David Lynch movies can be disturbing, such as Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, or Eraserhead. Although I still love David Lynch movies. Just look at the baby from Eraserhead, disturbing

I invited my sister over to watch movies one night. One of the films I had rented was Blue Velvet. Well, we put it in the vcr and watched it for awhile, then at one point all of a sudden she said it was gross and didn't want to watch any more. I told her I wanted to watch the end of it before watching another movie. So she got pissed and got up and flounced out the door. She never watched another movie at my house again. After she left, I felt bad - and it did get really weird. But even so, I just wanted to see the end!

Probably any movies that have exorcisms in them are automatically disturbing. Exorcism of Emily Rose was definitely freaky.
Some of Johnny Depp's movies are disturbing at times but in a good way. I love his movies because of that.

The most disturbing film i've seen is Cannibal Holocaust, i got a uncut version off of ebay it a banned Italian horror movie, it was pretty disturbing features real animal killings, cannibalism, rape, nudity, a real live turtle being disembowelled, castration , Similar films to that i've seen movies such as Jungle Holocaust, Eaten Alive, Deep River Savages, all banned Italian horror film now released cut, all similar to Cannibal Holocaust. How how how did you get into watching these..? Are they like snuff films lite..?

The most disturbing movie that comes to mind was this movie I saw on Starz a while ago. It was about some 20 year old guy who had to take care of his mother after she broke her leg (something like that) and his mother wound up seducing him....*shudders* really weird movie. I think at the end he faked his own death and ran away. It was a really terrible movie, but still disturbing

Or maybe it was something else! But whatever film I saw, I was too disturbed to watch it til the end!

He wasn't in the shower with her, but he stood outside of the curtain and had to wash her...ewww, its so creepy!

Blue Velvet didn't really affect me so much, souless monster that i am ;D. I did a presentation of David Lynch for my Film Studies class last Wednesday. I used a clip from Blue Velvet, but it was the beginning, so not too bad.
What did freak some people out, though, was the scene from Mullholland Dr. where the man in the diner relates a recurring nightmare to his friend, and the nightmare slowly starts becoming real. I also used a dream sequence from Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me, which was met by a confused silence, and the deer scene from the Straight Story, which got a few laughs.
I thought of two more disturbing films though- the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and a seriously perverse Korean film- Old Boy

Thats cool about doing a presentation on David Lynch films. I remember that diner nightmare scene, that was kind of freaky. I also loved Twin Peaks, I'm still mad that it was canceled before they could explain everything. Nice quote in your signature too.

I was afraid that people might be like - what the hell was that? But I got a round of applause and several people asked some interesting questions at the end. Yeah, Twin Peak's cancellation was absurd- there won't be anything like it on TV again . I always use a Twin Peaks quote for my sig- its gotta be the most quottable show ever.
