I saw Amistad this week, and ended up walking out of the room. I personally found it very disturbing. There are some pretty graphic scenes that really upsetted me.

Too many, probably all of the above, except ichy the killer- really want to see that.
One's not mentioned- Happiness, and Man Bites Dog.
To be honest films about war, opression or greed actually disturb me more than any horror or 'extreme' film would- cause those things happen all the time in the real world every minute of the day.
As for nipple cutting off scenes- Bob Geldof did that in Pink Floyd's The Wall- seems strange it would be cut.

I agree. Also, I find that non-fiction is more disturbing than fiction by far. Saving Private Ryan: Very graphic depictions of people being shot, blown up, stabbed, burned alive, etc.. Also, the one scene where the two soldiers are wrestling to the death: still can't watch it. It's fictional but many soldiers in real life suffered similar deaths (or worse): that's the most disturbing part. The Passion Of The Christ: I'm not sure if any human can realistically withstand the amount and degree of torture inflicted upon Jesus as depicted in this movie, but it is disturbing nonetheless.

In high school in English class We watched movies every so often and one of the ones we watched was Lottery. It is about a town full of people and once a year all of them put their names in a pot and who's ever name gets drawn gets stoned to death. They have no choice they got to die. Even little kids throw stones.

Guess that makes me kinda morbid lol.

Yeah that was kind of the point- most of the directors of films like that were really interested in making methaphor of the civil rights movement in the 60's and vietnam etc (many had served there and used the gore in a teraputic way to exorcise what they had witnessed) for them they were akin to fairy tales which as well as enchant or terrify give morals and instructions. Night of the living dead was shot with the idea of how peoples of different countries and races got dehumanised on tv and the media- especially the last scene.

There is a movie called River's Edge from the mid 80s that I found creepy and very unsettling. It stars Crispin Glover (who is very creepy) Keanu Reeves and Ione Skye (the object of John Cusack's love in Say Anything) and its about a group a friends that find a dead body by the river and they find out its someone they knew who killed her. Dennis Hopper is in the movie too, his character is in love with his inflatable doll...yeah thats how weird and creepy this movie is. ~i.a. ;D
